We are all traveling more and are all traveling much greater distances. There has been a massive increase in the amount of cars on our roads and planes in our skies. A quarter of all CO2 emissions come from transport. Our lifestyles have become completely connected to the transport we use but this cannot continue forever. All our transport technologies are wholly dependent on fossil fuels which speaks for its self. Change is going to happen whether we like it or not, how smoothly as a nation and an individual we take on this challenge is in our hands. The simple fact remains that we have to travel less and when we do travel that we use more environmentally friendly methods to reach our destination. |

Bicycle > Love or hate the cyclist his green credentials are top notch. With zero CO2 emissions we should all consider at some point the benefits of this form of travel. Many urban councils have now created cycle lanes within there cities. With around only 2% of all trips on the bicycle there is room for improvement. |
